About this item
A round casserole in enamelled cast iron: heavy, slow to heat and slow to cool, which is exactly what stews, bread and rice dishes want. It works on every hob including induction, goes into the oven up to 250 °C, and is presentable enough to carry to the table.
The inside is a pale enamel that shows what the food is doing; the rim is bare cast iron, as on every pot of this kind, and wants drying after washing. Lid knob in stainless steel, two wide loop handles that take oven gloves.

Heavy, as cast iron should be, and the enamel inside has stayed clean after a dozen stews. Goes from the hob to the oven and sits on the table without anyone minding. I was told the exact amount on the confirmation call and paid the driver, which felt refreshingly simple.

Thank you, Beatriz. The enamel takes a while to discolour if you avoid heating it empty — you are doing it right. — SavesNest

made bread in it, made goulash in it, made rice pudding in it. lid fits tight so nothing dries out. the handles are big enough for oven gloves which is not always the case

The 4.5 litres feeds five with leftovers. Lid knob is metal, so no worry about the oven temperature. It arrived double boxed and without a chip.

Double boxing is the only way cast iron travels well. Thank you, Carmen. — SavesNest

Very good pot and I use it weekly. One star off because the rim is bare cast iron and needs drying straight after washing or it marks. That's normal for the type, but worth knowing.

Quite right, Petra — the rim is unglazed on every enamelled pot of this kind, and a quick dry after washing keeps it clean. Thank you for saying it plainly. — SavesNest

Bought the casserole for Sunday cooking, ended up using it most days. Cleans with a soft sponge.
