About this item

Battery pruning shears that do the effort for you: press the trigger with one finger and the motor closes the blade on branches up to 55 mm of green wood. In the hand they weigh 1 kg with the battery, for roses, hedges and low branches; on top of the telescopic pole the whole tool weighs 1.5 kg and reaches about 5 m from the ground, with both feet on the grass. The weight stays where your hands are: the battery clips into the grip at the bottom of the pole, so only the cutting head goes up. Three moves to start — clip the shears on, join the sections, press — and no tools. Two 4.0 Ah batteries give up to 12 hours of work and recharge fast (about 45 minutes); the fitting takes Makita 18V batteries, so spares are easy to find. The brushless motor and the SK5 titanium-coated blade keep a clean cut season after season. Supplied in a moulded case with 13 pieces: the pole folds, comes apart and goes in the case too.

i use it more in the hand than on the pole, roses and the laurel hedge. takes it off in seconds. my wrists thank me every evening

    Reply

For roses try the small opening, it is quicker. Thank you! — The SavesNest team

Cuts what it says, 4 cm plum went in one go. Four stars because fully extended you really need the shoulder strap, without it the arms feel it after a while.

    Reply

Fair point: the strap is part of how it is meant to be used, not an extra. — The SavesNest team

One charge did the whole orchard, about three hours of real cutting, and the second battery was still in the case. The counter on the display tells you where you are.

Two apple trees and a walnut that hangs over the roof. I did all of it standing on the grass, no ladder. The pole locks well, nothing slides down while you cut.

    Reply

That walnut was the reason we built it. Thank you, Krzysztof. — The SavesNest team

Old olive wood is hard and dry, it takes two passes, but it does not stall. Spare blades were in the case which is not obvious at this price.
